Power, Wealth, and the Individual

Our latest art project, The Jante Effect, explores the complex relationship between power, wealth, and the individual. It presents a narrative through three distinct paintings: a king, an entrepreneur, and the common man. These figures are not simply individuals, but roles within a larger societal structure.

Each painting in the trilogy delves into a unique facet of power. The king embodies traditional, inherited power and its responsibilities. The entrepreneur represents power gained through innovation and risk. The common man portrays the experience of being subject to power, highlighting both its benefits and constraints.

This project does not offer simplistic answers or moral judgments. It is designed to provoke thought and encourage viewers to consider how power dynamics shape our lives. The ambiguity is intentional. We hope to foster dialogue about the role of wealth and its perception within society.

We believe that art can be a powerful tool for examining complex issues. The Jante Effect aims to contribute to a more nuanced understanding of the forces that govern our world. It encourages reflection on the individual’s place within these systems of power and wealth.
